Schuyler Valuation Services is a leader when it comes to technology
Here at Schuyler Valuation Services, we always strive to be on the forefront of appraisal technology. We use the best and newest technology around to complete your appraisal without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
The appraisal process has changed vastly lately and most would say, it's a lot more demanding than in the past. Cutting corners on analysis isn't an option for an ethical appraiser. So, we've simply optimized our routine processes to do more in less time. The appraisers that have continuously adopted new technology have been the ones able to consistently satisfy their customers with more accurate reports, better customer service and faster turnaround times.
Ordering and Tracking
Way back when, a lot of our orders were delivered via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back to the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we receive an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
At Schuyler Valuation Services we understand it's all about "cycle time". We use our resources to reduce waiting between communications since the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.
Schuyler Valuation Services is a pioneer in efficient data gathering
Gathering the data for an appraisal is an intensive process. We spend a great deal of time collecting both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. Schuyler Valuation Services takes advantage of technology to close the gap once again.
We've learned that taking notes the standard way, using pencil and paper, generally takes longer since we we have to enter everything back in at the office. Don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an application developed for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy outdated tape measure, a larger percentage appraisers are utilizing accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.
We combine all of these different technologies to ensure that the final report is thorough and accurate. This helps both you and us by requiring less time for call-backs and revisions. Our goal is to save you time and money.
Modern appraisal report delivery ensures our clients have a number of ways to get their report
The majority of our appraisals are delivered through e-mail as PDF documents. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's a lot faster than the old days when everything was on paper. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with how you receive your report with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because it was too big? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too. When we deliver an appraisal through this website, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the download link is good for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again - saving you time, since we won't even need to run back to the computer.
Digital Workfile Technology
It would probably be easier if appraisers could complete a report, deliver it and never worry about seeing that document again. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers need to keep their reports for 5 years, allowing them to recall any appraisal at any time to either defend the valuation or to be used in other legal proceedings.
Here again, Schuyler Valuation Services leverages our embracing of technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we can pull up the entire file whenever it's needed and recall just what that assignment was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Investing in the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to save time without cutting corners and deliver a better product to you, our client.
